What is Binge Eating Disorder?
Binge eating disorder is an eating disorder in which a person has recurrent episodes of eating large amounts of food in one sitting. Binge eating disorder is associated with these features:

Eating much larger amounts of food than an average person would eat in one sitting (also known as binging)

A feeling of loss of control over how much you are eating

Eating much faster than normal during binges

What is Compulsive Overeating?
Compulsive overeating describes an addiction to food. A person dealing with compulsive overeating may have some or all of the features of binge eating disorder. They may also feel compelled to eat throughout the day whether they are hungry or not. Compulsive overeaters often feel they cannot control their eating habits.
