Turn on the lamp or light fixture you're using. If eyes will be exposed, be sure to use appropriate eye protection. The bulb may touch the skin. To keep the bulb surface clean, you may cover it with a single layer of plastic wrap if desired. Use the bulb for 5 to 15 minutes per session, for up to 3 sessions per day.
RubyLux Red & Near Infrared LED Bulb (2nd Generation)
With the RubyLux Red & Near Infrared LED Bulb, you get:

-
More light intensity,
-
Shorter session times with more effective results,
-
Hands-free use.

The RubyLux Red & Near Infrared LED Bulb is comprised of 5 high-intensity light emitting diodes (LED's). It is designed to fit into standard U.S. lamps or light fixtures, making it perfect for easy, convenient use at home. They require 5W to operate. While it requires very little to operate effectively, they put out extremely intense light. The red is 660nm and the infrared LED wavelength is 850nm.
This bulb is available in 120V (such as the United States and Canada), and in 220V (such as Europe, Pacific Asia and Central/South America).

This bulb gives 105 mW/cm2 at 4 inches (10 cm) away (the recommended distance).

NOTE: The light from infrared LED's is not visible. The LED's of this bulb are wired in series, however, so if the red LED's are on, all LED's are on and working properly. If one goes out, they would all go out.
Instructions for Your RubyLux 2nd Generation LED Bulb

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

· Eye protection is a must! If your eyes will be exposed to the light from the bulb during use, be sure to wear appropriate eye protection that shields your eyes from the brightness of the bulb.
· Never stare directly into the bulb for prolonged periods, even if you are wearing eye protection.
· If you take any medications, check with your doctor or pharmacist to confirm they do not cause photosensitivity (sensitivity to light) before beginning to use your RubyLux bulb.
· Always do a patch test on an inconspicuous area first to make sure no rare negative reactions occur. Start by using for 15 to 30 seconds. Check that the area shows no irritation or negative changes over the course of the next 24 hours. Gradually increase session time by 15 to 30 seconds each day until you reach your desired total treatment time.
· Do not expose your skin to the light after using products that cause sensitivity to light, such as retinol, vitamin C products or lemon juice. If a product advises you to avoid sunlight after using it, you should also avoid exposing your skin to the light of your RubyLux bulb for that period of time.
· Do not allow the bulb to touch the skin during use, as the metal parts of the bulb may become uncomfortably warm or hot.
· Do not attempt to hold the bulb during use. The metal part of the bulb becomes too warm to be held and holding the bulb would block its cooling fins causing the bulb to stop working.
· To protect your investment, use a surge protector with your bulb.

The instructions here ONLY apply to the RubyLux 2nd Generation LED Bulbs. These instructions are NOT for RubyLux NIR-A Near Infrared Incandescent Bulbs or 1st Generation RubyLux LED Bulbs.

· Position the bulb 2 to 3 inches from the area you are targeting.
· Use your bulb for 2 to 6 minutes per session, for up to 3 sessions per day.
Tips and Helpful Hints

Take pictures of before and after so you can track your progress and adjust your session time based on what works best for you as an individual.
· Many people use a gooseneck clip lamp because it can be attached to an object and then adjusted easily. When choosing a lamp, be sure it is heavy enough or has a strong enough clamp to prevent the bulb from falling.
· Keep the bulb at least 1 inch away from the treatment area.
· Beware of over-treatment! While overuse will not cause harm, it can undo the benefits of that particular session. Always err on the side of less treatment time to maximize the effects of your RubyLux 2nd Generation LED Bulb.
Care and Cleaning of Your RubyLux 2nd Generation LED Bulb
· The surface of the bulb may be wiped clean with a soft microfiber cloth.
· Do not immerse your RubyLux 2nd Generation LED Bulb in liquid or spray it with liquid.
