The RubyLux All Blue Antibacterial LED Bulb kills well over 50% of bacteria on a surface within 2 to 3 minutes of exposure. Within 20 minutes, the overwhelming majority of bacteria are killed. The light denatures the proteins that bind bacteria together, destroying and killing them. It also possesses anti-fungal properties.

The RubyLux All Blue Antibacterial LED Bulb is not known to have any effect on viruses or parasites. It is effective primarily for killing bacteria on various surfaces.

This bulb gives approximately 150 mW/cm2 at 0 to 1 inch away (the recommended distance).

Uses and Basic Information on the RubyLux All Blue Antibacterial LED Bulb

As one can imagine, with its powerful antibacterial properties, the RubyLux All Blue Antibacterial LED Bulb has a multitude of uses. It may be used to kill bacteria or yeast/fungus on any surface and is not known to be harmful to skin, hair or nails. When used on fabrics or other surfaces, it is highly unlikely to discolor or damage. To be sure, you should always test a small area first to confirm that intense blue light from the bulb will not discolor or damage the target.

The RubyLux All Blue Antibacterial LED Bulb kills a great deal of bacteria and fungus within the first 2 to 3 minutes of exposure. The closer the target surface is to the bulb, the stronger the effect will be. It is safe for the bulb to touch any surface as long as the surface is dry.

Potential uses include: killing bacteria and yeast/fungus on the skin's surface, on phones, makeup and makeup brushes or killing odor-causing bacteria on shoes and clothing. When used on nails to kill toenail fungus, additional exposure time may be necessary due to the nail's blocking light reaching the fungal infection.

Instructions for Use

To use your new RubyLux bulb, screw it into a lamp or light fixture as you would a regular light bulb.  We recommend the RubyLux Power Cord, which is compatible with all RubyLux LED bulbs. You can also use a gooseneck clip lamp because it can be attached to an object and then adjusted easily. Watch our YouTube video, where Emma shows you how to use your RubyLux LED Bulb.

Care and Cleaning of Your RubyLux All Blue LED Bulb

The RubyLux bulb should not be immersed in or sprayed with liquid. Keep the bulb dry at all times, especially when it is plugged in.

To keep the bulb clean, we recommend covering the bulb’s light-emitting LED’s with a single layer of clear plastic wrap with each use or using RubyLux Self-Stick LED Bulb Cover Shields (coming soon!) which are disposable.  If you use plastic wrap, do not put plastic wrap on or around the metal part of the bulb that is screwed in.

You can keep the bulb dust-free using a microfiber dusting cloth or clean with a very slightly damp Clorox or Lysol cleaning wipe or clean cloth. Do not attempt to clean the bulb when it is plugged in. Always unplug it before cleaning and allow plenty of time for any surface moisture to dry before plugging it back in.

Safety Information

Never stare directly into the bulb when it is on, especially if you have seizures or migraines that are triggered by light. If your eyes will be exposed to the light from the bulb during use, be sure to wear appropriate eye protection. Do not direct RubyLux bulbs towards unprotected eyes for prolonged periods of time, even if your eyes remain closed.

Do not screw in the bulb overly tightly. Doing so may break the bulb or cause it to burn out prematurely.

We suggest using eye protection that filters out the majority of blue LED light and shields your eyes from the overall brightness of LED light.

Do not expose your skin to the light after using products that cause photosensitivity, such as lemon juice, vitamin C powder/cream/serum or retinol.  If a product or medication advises you to avoid sunlight after using it, you should also avoid exposing your skin to the light of your RubyLux bulb for that period of time just to be safe.
