Instructions for Use

To use your new RubyLux bulb, screw it into a lamp or light fixture as you would a regular light bulb.  Many people use a gooseneck clip lamp because it can be attached to an object and then adjusted easily.

Turn on the lamp or light fixture you're using. If eyes will be exposed, be sure to use appropriate eye protection. The bulb may touch the skin.  To keep the bulb surface clean, you may cover it with a single layer of plastic wrap if desired.  Use the bulb for 5 to 15 minutes per session, for up to 3 sessions per day.

Care and Cleaning of Your RubyLux LED Bulb

The RubyLux bulb should not be immersed in or sprayed with liquid.

To keep the bulb clean, we recommend covering the bulb’s light-emitting LED’s with a single layer of clear plastic wrap with each use.  Do not put plastic wrap on or around the metal part of the bulb that is screwed in.

You can keep the bulb dust-free using a microfiber dusting cloth or clean with a very slightly damp Clorox (or Lysol) cleaning wipe or clean cloth.

Safety Information

Never stare directly into the bulb when it is on, especially if you have seizures or migraines that are triggered by light. If your eyes will be exposed to the light from the bulb during use, be sure to wear appropriate eye protection. Do not direct RubyLux bulbs towards unprotected eyes for prolonged periods of time, even if your eyes remain closed.

Do not screw in the bulb overly tightly. Doing so may break the bulb or cause it to burn out prematurely.

We suggest using eye protection that shields eyes from the overall brightness of LED light. If using a RubyLux Red and Blue Bulb or RubyLux All Blue LED Bulb, we recommend using eye protection that filters out the majority of blue light. If using a RubyLux Ultraviolet LED Bulb, we recommend avoiding allowing the bulb's light to come into contact with the skin or eyes. For more information on the RubyLux Ultraviolet (UV) LED Bulb, click here

Do not expose your skin to the light after using products that cause photosensitivity, such as lemon juice, vitamin C powder/cream/serum or retinol.  If a product advises you to avoid sunlight after using it, you should also avoid exposing your skin to the light of your RubyLux bulb for that period of time.  Remember that some medications can also cause photosensitivity.
